"Hallo!" said Pooh, in case there was anything outside.

My name is Catherine, nee Huse, now Crow. I grew up in a small town called Allendale in New Jersey (no jokes please! I like it) and was fortunate enough to attend Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. While there, I studied Drama and Education, and I made a lot of really cool friends, especially those at Phi Tau Coeducational Fraternity. At Tau (though after my graduation!) I had the good fortune to meet Preston Crow. We hit it off very well, created The LEGO Empire together, and eventually celebrated our wedding on July 29, 1995. After a fabulous honeymoon in Oregon, Denmark, and England, we returned home to New Jersey.

"Hallo!" said the Strange Animal, wondering how long this was going on.

After five fabulous years as a public school teacher (at a terrific school called Manito Elementary in Oakland, NJ), I decided it was time for me to continue my own education. This being the case, I applied to, and was accepted by, the Harvard Graduate School of Education, so we picked up our tent stakes and moved to Massachusetts. I loved the program and also got back into drama again, which is wonderful! I graduated in June 1999 with a Master's of Education. In 1999-2000 I taught sixth grade in a private school, which unfortunately was not a good fit for me. After two years off to do other things that I adore (see My Projects and Fun Stuff for some samples), I started teaching again at a local Montessori School. While I am very interested in the Montessori method, however, I found myself yearning for the public schools, and so I'm now taking a year off to get those credentials back in order. Preston, meanwhile, has a great job with EMC. Things are quite amazing at this point in time.

And what will happen next? Who knows? But it's sure to be exciting!

"Anyhow," Pooh said, "it is nearly Luncheon Time." So he went home for it.
